Day 24: The Audience-Access Trade
How Avi added 10,769 subscribers through asymmetric partnerships.
Welcome to Day 24 of the 30 Days of Growth. This is a pop-up newsletter put together by Chenell from Growth In Reverse. I've pulled 30 creators together to help give one short, actionable way you can either grow or improve your email list.
Avi Gandhi writes the Creator Logic newsletter, helping creators earn more money from their content.
Avi partnered with companies already reaching his ideal readers, exchanging content, interviews, and shoutouts for long-term, free growth.
🔍 How Avi Does It
He scaled his newsletter by partnering with companies that already had access to the exact people he wanted to reach: creators.
Instead of paying for promotion, he offered content, collaborations, and credibility in return for visibility. These value-based partnerships helped him tap into pre-built audiences without spending a dollar.
Here are three examples:
1. Newsletter content swap: Avi allowed an influencer marketing company to paraphrase some of his newsletter content for their own audience. The only condition was that they include a link to his original work. 👉 This drove around 300 new subscribers.
2. Webinar partnership with Skillshare: He cohosted a webinar where he interviewed one of their creators. In return, Skillshare promoted the event and gave Avi the RSVP list. 👉 That led to 469 new subscribers.
3. Ongoing outreach partnership with Influencers Club: Avi’s most successful collaboration came from Influencers Club. They have been doing cold outreach to creators for over a year and a half and include a link to his newsletter in the process.
In exchange, Avi occasionally mentions them in his LinkedIn posts. He also has a referral agreement with them, which brings in revenue if someone becomes a customer. 👉 This partnership has led to 10,000+ high-quality subscribers.
📊 Results

💡 How You Can Implement It
Make a list of companies that already reach your ideal audience. Think about tools, platforms, agencies, or communities your readers use regularly.
Reach out with a clear value exchange. Offer them something useful like content, exposure, or co-marketing in return for newsletter promotion.
Propose a collaboration format that fits their audience. Webinars, guest posts, paraphrased content, or interview-style features all work well.
Add a growth condition to the deal. Make sure they include a link to your newsletter, share an RSVP list, or mention your brand in the right places.
Track performance and expand successful partnerships. If something works well, build on it. Consider adding a referral agreement or doing regular collabs.
