Day 28: This Increased Conversions by 419%
How one change helped a fashion creator boost opt-ins from 2% to 10.39%
Welcome to Day 28 of the 30 Days of Growth. This is a pop-up newsletter put together by Chenell from Growth In Reverse. I've pulled 30 creators together to help give one short, actionable way you can either grow or improve your email list.
ANNOUNCEMENT
After getting tons of messages and DMs like: “I want to pay you for a more step-by-step version of the 30 Days of Growth.”
I decided to give in.
I’m launching a companion course to the 30 Days of Growth. You can learn more here and grab the pre-sale price until I’m done recording it.
Okay, on with today’s Growth Lever.
Brennan Dunn, founder of RightMessage, teaches creators how to personalize their websites and funnels for better results.
One of his clients, who runs a large fashion website, was using a generic opt-in form across her entire site. Which isn't bad, but it was converting around 2%, which is standard, but not exciting.
🔍 What Brennan Does
Instead of chasing more traffic, Brennan helped her match the lead magnet to the content category. For example:
On denim-related blog posts, the opt-in offered a PDF on "5 Ways to Style Your Favorite Jeans."
On the accessories pages, it offered "The Ultimate Guide to Matching Bags with Outfits."
Each opt-in extended the conversation, rather than interrupting it. This simple change boosted her opt-in rate to 10.39%.
📊 Results
From 2% to 10.39% conversion rate on lead magnets
For context, if 1,000 people visit a page:
2% conversion is 20 subscribers
10.39% is around 103 subscribers
That's a 419% increase from this change
They are also able to better help these readers over time, sending them hyper-relevant emails and content in the future.
🧠 Why It Works
Perfect alignment reduces friction. Readers already care about the topic, so the opt-in just feels like the natural next step.
If someone is reading a post about that specific topic, they're going to be more likely to opt-in for more.
It boosts trust and perceived value, since the offer feels specific and thoughtful.
It turns passive readers into active subscribers, much faster.
💡How You Can Implement It
Find your top 3–5 blog posts or pages that bring in traffic or keep readers engaged.
Create simple lead magnets that extend each piece. These can be PDFs, templates, checklists, or deeper guides related to the exact topic.
Add opt-in forms to those specific pages. Make the form copy match the page content so it feels like a natural next step.
Track results separately from your general opt-in. Measure conversion rates per page and lead magnet.
Double down on what works. If a lead magnet crushes it, create more around similar topics or content types.
